On Saturday, June 14, 2014, the LAPD and the LAFD will host the 5th annual Safe Summer Tip-off Youth Safety Festival and Basketball Game.  This special and unique event aims to bring young people together in a positive and fun-loving environment to celebrate the summer with safe, community enriching activities.

The event will include pre-game activities to build unity among the youth, appearances by celebrity guests, entertainment, a complimentary lunch, and opportunities to learn more about the two departments and our community partners.

Also featured at the event is a spirited basketball game between LAPD officers and firefighters from the LAFD.  Tipping off the game will be Team Captains Chief Charlie Beck and Fire Chief James Featherstone.

In addition, this is a great opportunity for Dad’s to celebrate Father’s Day weekend with their kids.  Not only will every child have the opportunity to win great raffle prizes, every Dad will also have the opportunity to win.

It is anticipated that 5,000 or more children and their families will attend this annual event.
